Surfing the web one day, I came across a gorgeous geometric layered wood poster that someone had made. I was mesmerized. “I could do that,” I thought. And so I did.

The first design that I came up with, knowing nothing. To this day it's my favorite.
My first test cut using MDF.

The final version made from wood, after staining and gluing.

After that initial poster I was hooked. This is from later that week. Left to right: Jake the family dog, an homage to one of my favorite movies, and a clock of my design.

The clock as it hangs now on my grandmother's wall. The joy for me was in making, and I would come hang them for any family or friend who wanted it.

A stained glass window inspired piece.
A wall garden with a built in light and individually adjustable pots and integrated drainage system. Made on a small laser cutter in the bedroom of my NYC apartment (hence the sections). All of the plants you see were grown from seeds. I originally made it for myself with no intention of selling, but after popular demand, I refined the design and launched HERBINDOOR (click image to learn more).

A famous Basel poster that I recreated as an homage to my Swiss ancestry.
A chess board made to resemble the board from the Chess app. A video of the project is on Pinewood Slurpy (click image to go to Youtube page).
A closeup of the chess board. Each chess piece was made of multiple layers/sections. It was a tedious process but a beautiful result.
A retro wooden clock to house my iPhone. I utilized a magnetic (magsafe) charger to hold the phone in place. The iPhone has a neat feature of turning into a clock when charging and horizontally oriented. The bonus: it has a working snooze button! A video of this design + build is on the Pinewood Slurpy channel (click image to view).
A minion apple watch charger. 3D made from painted layered plywood with the charger embedded. The apple watch serves as the minion's goggles. A video of this design + build is also available on Pinewood Slurpy (click to image view).
A wooden jewelry box with drawer and soft lining. Another Pinewood Slurpy video (click to image view).

Grateful Dead bears, requested by a friend for his newborn son. Each bear is about 8" tall.

Here's the photo I used for the first Jake poster.

I created a graphic of his face and then filled the background with his favorite foods: cheese, challah, watermelon, and string beans.

All cut out.

Stained and glued.

The graphic. I think this one is 6 layers.

Another one of Jake.

Cut out.

Stained and glued. One of my favorites.

Remy, as he hangs in the kitchen. Yes chef!

This design is based around the golden ratio. I planned to make 4 large versions of this and display them in varying orientations to create an interesting wall display. Maybe when I get a bigger place.

Here's the house I grew up in. Was away at college when I made this poster so had to rely on good-ole Google Maps.

The graphic- The car in the driveway was supposed to be a Delorean with its doors open (no, we didn't actually have a Delorean but I thought it would be more fun than a Honda Odyssey).

After I cut it out though, someone asked why the sedan out front had a turret on top and I can't unsee it.

Staining helps add depth and separation between layers.

Those who know me know I love penguins, so I wanted to make something to represent that. I came across an Antarctica postcard online and thought "this is way better than I could ever do", and painstakingly turned it into a 3d wood poster.

A daft punk piece for a friend.

A family member requested a beer on the beach.
Layered geometric poster of my logo for a brand of mine, Koala Boards (click image to learn more).
Another Koala Boards piece - a skateboard with the logo on the tail and eucalyptus leaves in the background.

After the Delorean in my childhood driveway poster didn't come out great, I thought I had to do it justice. This one is something like 7 layers and looks great in 3D.
